Netball
At the start of the school holiday break, a group of enthusiastic students from Years 4 to 6 proudly represented St Joseph’s School at the Netball Primary Schools Cup in Bundaberg. This exciting two-day carnival provided a fantastic opportunity for the kids to develop their netball skills and foster a love for the sport.
Our students showcased exceptional respect and fellowship throughout the event, earning well-deserved and highly competitive wins. The teamwork and camaraderie displayed on the netball court were truly outstanding, making our school proud.
The weekend was filled with joy and smiles, especially when some of the children had the unique chance to meet stars from the Queensland Firebirds. This memorable experience added an extra layer of excitement to the event.
A special thank you goes to Lauren Staley, who stepped in at the last minute to coach our McAuley team. Your dedication is greatly appreciated!
We also extend our gratitude to our umpires: Kirsten Widderick, Fiona Fox, Rebecca Stibbard, Lisa Sunderland, Natalie Vedelago, and Year 8 student Claire Vanderwolf, who began her umpiring career on such a significant stage. Your support was invaluable.
Thank you to the entire school community for backing our primary netball squad this year. Organising participation in a distant event requires extensive planning and support. We are grateful to Amy Hill and all the families who embraced this endeavor and supported our students and school.
The positive memories and experiences from this event have undoubtedly enriched our school community.
