DEPUTY PRINCIPAL
On the Student Free Day at the start of this term, our Secondary Mathematics team travelled to Toowoomba, along with the primary staff, to engage in the Inspire Mathematics Day with other schools in the Diocese. As part of this, Lisa McPherson and Anna Jones presented a session highlighting the great work we are doing at St Joseph’s around Creative Pedagogies and Data Analytics in Mathematics. The presentation was very well received from staff at other TCS schools and I thank Lisa and Anna for this wonderful contribution to improving the quality of teaching Mathematics not only in our school, but the Diocese.
Further to this, Brooke Butson (Careers Development Practitioner) and I will meet with all Year 10 students and parents across Weeks 2-5 to commence work in developing their Senior Education and Training (SET) plans. This document informs post-school pathways and subsequent curriculum offerings to ensure that the school can work collaboratively with the student to achieve success in their senior schooling and provide the necessary pathways to post-school study and employment.
God bless
Matthew Brown
Deputy Principal
