Year 6 student, Georgia Petrie recently competed at the State Cross Country Championships which were held in Ipswich on Sunday 18th July.

Georgia placed 32nd out of field of 64 with her individual entry and also placed 7th with her team in the relay event.

QISSN

The 2021 QISSN Carnival took place on the first week of the June/July holidays in Brisbane.

On Sunday 27^th June, 10 budding netballers with Mrs Petrie & Mrs Ellis in tow headed up the highway where they participated in the Opening Ceremony along with over 60 schools from around Queensland.

Day One of competition (Monday) saw games against St John's Catholic School Roma, St Andrew's Lutheran College Tallebudgerra where we narrowly were defeated but we ended the day with a hard-fought win against St Catherine's Catholic College, The Whitsundays.

Just as we were gaining some momentum on Day 2 of competition and with only marginal loses to Assisi Catholic College, Upper Coomera and St James College, Brisbane - sadly, the competition was cancelled due to a COVID lockdown in Brisbane.

The girl’s effort & dedication in the lead up to the competition and during the QISSN carnival was nothing short of outstanding and I would like to acknowledge & congratulate them for representing themselves & St Joseph’s with pride.
