VISIBLE LEARNING IN YEAR 9 MATHS
Year 9 Maths students recently particpated in an out-of-seats revision activity on simplification by collecting like terms.
This was followed up with a lesson on the distributive law. They then practiced in small groups to match expanded and factored forms of the same equation.
Learning the inverse relationship between the distribution law and factoring is one example of gaining a deeper connection of concepts, which is an aspect of visible learning in maths.
After all, we are a school of "visible learning" school.
