With a Father's Heart - Year of St. Joseph

Pope Francis has declared that this year will be dedicated to St. Joseph, husband of Mary and earthly father of Jesus, marking the 150th anniversary of the declaration of St. Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church.

Pope Francis describes Joseph as a “beloved father, a tender and loving father, an obedient father, an accepting father; a father who is creatively courageous, a working father, a father in the shadows.” (Pope Francis, 2020)

As a school St. Joseph will be the focus of morning prayer, and special celebrations will be held on March 19th to celebrate Joseph’s feast day and his dedication as patron saint of our school.

This year Campus Minister John Mahoney will open the chapel in the convent on Tuesday and Friday mornings before school, where both staff and students can visit to pray and prepare for the day.  Those who visit will also have an opportunity to write a prayer intention to Joseph and place it in a bowl beneath his statue.

This year we have the opportunity to get to know Joseph, who he was, and his commitment to Mary and Jesus throughout his life.

God's Blessings
