Secondary Swimming Carnival  

Friday 5 February saw the sporting calendar get underway with the running of the annual Secondary Swimming Carnival. The weather was brilliant, providing perfect conditions for all students to get in and enjoy the water. 

Participation rates were high with the majority of students competing in a number of events across the program creating a fun but also very competitive environment.  

After a very close day with the overall points leader changing throughout the day, Davadi eventually came out on top being awarded the Champion house. Not to be deterred though, McAuley never stopped with their enthusiastic attitude and were awarded the Spirit trophy. 

A very sepcial mention must go to Jessica Pradella who at the age of 12 broke the Open Girls 400m Freestyle record.  This is a massive achievement and well done Jessica.

On a side note but a very important one for our proud teachers, the staff were successful in showing their prowess in the pool taking out the teacher v student relay.  

I’d like to personally congratulate all students and the House Captains in particular for their efforts in making the day a success, the teaching staff for allowing the day to run so smoothly and finally to Gail and Michael Smail at the Stanthorpe Swimming Pool for providing a first class facility for our school. 

Congratulations to the Age Champions and Runner-Ups, and to all the students who participated and gave their best throughout the day.
