Welcome back to all students and parents from what was hopefully a restful and enjoyable mid-year break. Semester 2 is well underway, and students and staff are already working hard and engaging with enthusiasm in the teaching and learning process. I take this opportunity to thank Mrs Brunckhorst and Mrs Rhymer, who took on additional duties on Secondary in Term 2, for the tremendous work they did during this time.

Further to this, we welcome on board Ms Raylene Kendall and Mrs Vicki Wockner for Semester 2. Vicki is an experienced Home Economics teacher, having spent the last part of her teaching career at Assumption College in Warwick. Raylene joins us from Brisbane and brings a wealth of passion and experience in the areas of Religious Education and Japanese. It is exciting for our school community to welcome both of these teachers on board.

In Week 2, the Senior Schooling Information Night was held for parents and student currently in Year 10. This night provided vital information in relation to senior and post-schooling pathways, as well as outlining the enhancements to the curriculum offerings that will ensure each of our students is able to map an individual pathway that will ready them for the next phase of their life post-school.

Further to this, Brooke Butson (Careers Development Practitioner) and I will meet with all Year 10 students and parents across Weeks 2-4 to commence work in developing their Senior Education and Training (SET) plans. This document informs post-school pathways and subsequent curriculum offerings to ensure that the school can work collaboratively with the student to achieve success in their senior schooling and provide the necessary pathways to post-school study and employment.

In Week 3, Secondary parents and students are invited to attend the Parent Teacher Consultation Night on Wednesday 29th July commencing at 3.30pm. This night provides an opportunity for staff to meet with parents and students to discuss academic progress and plan for future success in all curriculum areas heading into Semester 2. If you wish to book a time for this night, please check the broadcasts sent out via Parent Paperwork.

Live Jesus in our hearts, forever.
