Embarking on the Lenten Journey
Next Wednesday we celebrate Ash Wednesday, signifying the beginning of our Lenten journey to Easter. The liturgical colour changes from green to purple as we prepare ourselves for the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. There are many ways in which we can prepare ourselves for Easter, as people reflect on their lives and seek to know God better.
On Wednesday every child will receive ashes on their foreheads; a reminder that we are all on the journey to become better, stronger people this Lenten season. Throughout the coming weeks teachers will focus on special acts of prayer and giving as we all journey together to Easter.
