On Wednesday 16^th October, twelve students from Years 4 and 5 represented St Joseph's School in the annual Maths Team Challenge held in Warwick! Students formed groups of four to participate in five rounds of timed maths questions and challenges, and had to work together to not only answer the questions correctly, but as quickly as possible!

Overall St Joseph’s School placed first and third, with all three teams placing in the top ten; a fantastic effort for the school!

Whilst it was a competition and the top three teams were recognised for their efforts, the programme also instils skills such as cooperation, sharing responsibility and valuing the opinions and strengths of others. Students also look forward to taking part in these great academic challenges that test their academic abilities and extend their thinking in Mathematics.
