PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
It has been a good start to Term 4 and I hope your children have settled well into their learning and daily life at school.
Next week is a really exciting week in the life of the school. On Thursday night we have our annual awards night where we will celebrate the successes of our students and showcase the wonderful talent around the school. I look forward our special guests, families and their friends joining us for what will be another great night.
The 150-year anniversary of the school has provided an ideal opportunity to review and renew our major awards and trophies throughout the school. A number of these new awards will be presented at the awards night. Others are presented at events throughout the year. The full list of all our awards ranging from the Sister Maureen Keenan RSM Trophy for Dux of the School through to the Ben Armbruster Trophy for our house swimming champions will be shared with the school community via a broadcast early next week. The awards will reflect those significant people who have had such a positive influence on the school throughout our 150 years.
The other event that we're looking forward to next week is the announcement of our 2026 student leaders. This week the 20 Year 11 candidates who applied for various positions have been through a rigorous selection process in which they have had to submit a written application, attend an interview and present a three minute speech on assembly. It has been really heartening to see all 20 students put their best case forward and present so well. It will be a difficult decision to determine who would be appointed to the positions of school captain, house captain and prefect. However, I am confident, like our current Year 12s, all our 2026 Year 12s will do fine job of leading and representing the student body.
