PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Kendall_Andrew.jpg

It has been another busy and productive term for all students, staff and families.

There have been so many successes throughout the term. Learning continues to be our key focus, and I am pleased to witness the good work students have put into their recent assessment across Prep to Year 12. Our Year 12 students, in particular, are to be commended for their dedication to this week’s mock assessments — practice exams that serve as their final preparation for the external assessments (final exams), which will take place from Week 4 to Week 6 in Term 4.

In terms of success on the sporting field, the highlight has been our orienteering representatives performing so well to win the Queensland Champion Schools title at the Queensland Schools Orienteering Championships. All 15 of the students and orienteering coordinator Mr Allan Lahey were presented with a Queensland Champion School medal on assembly this week. A special congratulations to Margerat O’Dea who was selected in the Queensland Schools team and Erin O’Dea who was selected as a Queensland reserve. Both Maragret and Erin will be competing the Australian Orienteering Championships in Brisbane on the holidays.

We also have a team competing at the Primary Schools Netball Cup. No doubt they will get some valuable experience and have much fun playing against teams from all around the state.

Over the break, Father Nathan and our campus minister, Mrs Gianna Blaxland, are taking five Year 10 and Year 11 students to the Ignite Conference 25 in Brisbane. The Ignite Conference 25 is a four-day Catholic youth and leadership conference designed to inspire faith, foster community, and promote mission among high schoolers, young adults, and leaders.

Thanks to the staff and family members who are taking the students to these events.

I wish all students, families and staff and a restful, safe and blessed break over the next two weeks. It is well deserved.

God Bless

Andrew Kendall OAM
