QISSN Team Shines at the 2025 Carnival

Congratulations to all the girls in our QISSN team for their outstanding efforts throughout the carnival, which concluded on July 4. Their teamwork, determination, and school spirit were truly commendable!

A special shout-out to co-captain Eliza Bonner, who was awarded Most Valuable Player for the team—an exceptional achievement and well deserved!

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mrs Kayelene O’Dea (Coach) and Mrs Sandra Ellis (Team Manager) for their dedication and support throughout the year. Their commitment to preparing the team and caring for them during the carnival made a significant difference.

Thank you also to our enthusiastic supporters, whose cheers and encouragement lifted the team throughout the week.

It was a fantastic carnival, and we’re already looking forward to QISSN 2026. Go girls!

FUTSAL

Huge congratulations to the Open Boys Futsal team for qualifying and competing in the prestigious Champion of Champions tournament at Nissan Arena on Tuesday 22 July.

The team delivered an impressive performance, going head-to-head with top-tier schools from the QLD Schools Premier League. Their skill, determination, and teamwork were on full display, with fantastic goals and brilliant plays showcased throughout the day.

Well done, boys !

ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

After a day of thunderstorms and heavy rain, it was dubious whether the Athletics Carnival would go ahead — but we were ultimately blessed with beautiful sunshine and an incredible atmosphere! The day was filled with energy, sportsmanship, and school spirit.

Congratulations to all students who participated with such enthusiasm and determination. Your effort and attitude made the day truly special.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make the event run so smoothly:

  • Mr Sam Roddick, Head of Sport
  • Ms Sarah Day, Primary PE Teacher
  • Mr Jacob Steele and Mrs Kaylah Locke, Heads of House
  • Our dedicated staff
  • Mrs Chelsea Vedelago and the amazing tuckshop volunteers
  • And of course, our wonderful families and friends who came along to cheer and support!

Please note: Due to the weather, some field events could not be completed. As a result, all awards and presentations will now take place during assembly on Thursday 31st July.

So stay tuned… will McAuley take the crown, or will Davadi storm ahead for the win? The final results are under wraps until assembly — don’t miss it!

Thank you all for making it a memorable day!
