National Track & Field Championships
Achievements in the sporting arena have certainly been a key memory of 2019!
Brother and sister, Darius Jansink (Year 5) and Katie-Lee Jansink (Year 6) competed in the School Sport Australia 10-12 Years Track & Field Championships in Darwin during the school holidays.
Darius won both his Discus and Shot Put events, throwing 12.81m to win Shot Put and beating the nearest competitor by just under 2m, and throwing 36.02m to win Discus!
Meanwhile, Katie-Lee placed second in her Shot Put event with a personal best of 11.35m. She threw three personal bests on the way to getting this result!
We are very excited and pleased for both students who competed in our school athletics carnival earlier this year to win selection into the Granite Belt team, then Darling Downs and Queensland teams! The Olympics will be next!
Well done Darius and Katie-Lee!
