I hope this newsletter finds you well. We have had a fantastic start to the year, and I am excited to share some highlights and important updates with you.

Year 7 Camp at Kindilan

Our Year 7 students recently returned from a memorable three-day camp at Kindilan. The camp was filled with fun and adventure, providing students with the opportunity to build friendships and develop new skills. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff and students who made this camp a great success.

Semester 1 Assessment Calendars and Subject Overviews

By now, you should have received the Semester 1 Assessment calendars and subject overviews. These documents are crucial in supporting your child’s academic journey. They provide a clear outline of the assessment schedule and the topics that will be covered, helping you to stay informed and engaged in your child’s education.

Upcoming PAT Testing for Years 7-9

In Week 5, we will be conducting PAT Tests for students in Years 7-9. These tests will provide us with baseline data on reading comprehension and numeracy, which is an essential part of our yearly testing program. This data helps us to tailor our teaching strategies to meet the needs of each student.

NAPLAN Practice Session

Students in Years 7 and 9 will participate in a NAPLAN practice session in Week 6. This session is designed to test the functionality of the testing platform and ensure that students are familiar with the format of the assessments. It is an important step in preparing our students for the official NAPLAN tests.

Sporting Trials

Congratulations to all students who have recently attended sporting trials. We are particularly proud of those who have been selected to trial at the upcoming Darling Downs trials. Your dedication and hard work are commendable, and we wish you the best of luck.
