Step Into Stories - Author Talks
Students at the Primary Campus yesterday had an enriching experience engaging with author Renee Treml via Zoom as part of the Step into Stories experience. During the session, they not only had the opportunity to draw and interact with Ms Treml but also discussed her books and their content.
Directly connecting with authors and illustrators can ignite a sense of excitement about reading and writing. By engaging with the creative minds behind their favorite books, students gain valuable insights into the artistic process. Moreover, such interactions can open their eyes to new possibilities and potential career paths they may not have previously considered.

National Simultaneous Storytime
Wednesday 22nd May, saw students at St Joseph's Stanthorpe stop to enjoy the annual National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS), an event held nationally where thousands of children across the country participate by reading the same book at the same time with their peers. The selected book for NSS 2024 is “Bowerbird Blues” by Aura Parker.
Students in Year 3/4CG took part in a Simultaneous Story activity as part of the days events. Students looked for blue objects that were 5cm, 20cm and a perimeter of more than 80cm.

NSS is not only fun but also supports language development, learning, and literacy while building community. Last year, over 2 million kids participated in NSS.
