ASHLIN SEARLE - YOUNG ENDEAVOUR 2024
At the beginning of January, Year 10 Student Ashlin Searle had the honour of being selected to join a crew of young Australians embarking on a life-changing 11-day journey on the Young Endeavour, learning not only how to sail a square-rigged tall ship, but how to lead, support others and work together as a team.
In Ashlin’s words, “The Young Endeavour was a great opportunity that taught me and helped me improve many skills that I will need in the future. I whole heartedly recommend it to all other students as a challenging, but fun and engaging, adventure. I would also like to say thank you to the Stanthorpe RSL-Sub Branch who kindly sponsored me for this trip. Here are some of the photos that were taken during the voyage from Tasmania to Victoria, where we were passing through Bass Strait.”
Ashlin follows her older sister Elizabeth who sailed on the Young Endeavour a few years ago.
Well done Ashlin on an amazing feat!
