Netball

Congratulations to all Primary students who competed in the Queensland Netball Primary Schools Cup which was held in Mudgeeraba on the first weekend of the school holidays.

Thankyou Mrs Kayelene O’Dea and Mrs Melissa Skuse for taking the two primary teams to the carnival. It was a great opportunity and lots of fun for the students.

Futsal

In Week 2 of the School Holidays we had 4 lucky and very talented students (Coen Taylor, Sasha Kendall, Oliver Tuvukica and Lyndon Morello) contest the National Schools Futsal Titles at Nissan Arena in Brisbane.

Coen represented South West QLD. Coen being an experienced campaigner has contested the National schools tournament for his region multiple times. In the Ppen Boys division the competition was physical to say the least. In a tough and very competitive tournament Coen’s team finished with a commendable 6th place finish.

Lyndon represented South West Queensland. Their team did exceptionally well, going undefeated for the entire tournament until the semi-final rounds, where they unfortunately were eliminated just shy of a Gold Medal game. At the conclusion of the tournament Lyndon was offered a spot in the u/12 Australian team to travel to Fiji next year. Very exciting times for Lyndon.

Oliver also represented South West Queensland in the Under 8's division.  His team placed 2nd at the end of the rounds however unfortunately were eliminated in the semi-finals. A great achievment Oliver - well done !

Finally, in a twist of events with the Queensland squads scheduling Sasha Kendall represented the Victorian team for the week. Sasha’s team had some great wins (ironically with two against QLD teams) and she even took to court as captain of Victoria towards the end of the week such was the confidence her new found teammates had in her. Well done Sasha.

All four students had a fantastic experience being able to play at a National tournament and are excited about future representative opportunities.
