Well done to Year 12 student David Nemeth, for his role as guard commander of the catafalque party at last years Remembrance Day Service. David's role was recently recognised in the Queensland RSL News magazine.

A catafalque party consists of four members of an armed guard who stand, their heads bowed and their arms (weapon) reversed, facing outward approximately one metre from the coffin or catafalque as a symbolic form of respect for those who have fallen.

Catafalque parties are mounted around coffins as a sign of respect and around memorials on occasions of remembrance such as Anzac Day and Rememberane Day.

We thank David and his family for their ongoing service as a member of the TS Kookaburra Navy Cadets.
