A New Beginning… 

As we commence a new school year, I would like to extend a warm welcome to both our new and returning families.  Thank you for choosing St Joseph’s School for your child’s education. As a Catholic school, St Joseph’s aims to create a supportive, faith filled environment where students are nurtured and inspired to reach their full potential and be the best they can be.   

As Assistant Principal Formation and Identity, my role encompasses: 

• Supporting members of the school community in their faith journey 
• Development and review of Mission, policies and procedures 
• Development of the classroom and RE curriculum, including staff formation and resourcing 
• Preparing and facilitating prayer and liturgical experiences, including retreats and service-learning opportunities 
• Teaching 

This is my 10th year as APFI and I continue to find the role inspiring, challenging and rewarding in all aspects. 

Commencing at a Catholic school can be overwhelming and perhaps daunting for families not familiar with the Catholic tradition or Catholic schooling.  To allay any uncertainties families may be feeling, an excellent book will be available in coming weeks from our school library.  “‘So You’re Sending Your Child to a Catholic School’ is a friendly and gentle introduction to a few of the beliefs and values which make Catholics tick. It is a modest overview for people coming in touch with the Church, perhaps for the first time, or refreshing their acquaintance” (Garratt Publishing, 2023).
