Taking Time....
Last week the APREs of the Toowoomba Diocese had the opportunity to attend a two day retreat at the Bunya Mountains. Time was given to simply be and listen to the presence of God in our lives.
Our facilitator, Br Damian Price, guided us through the process of acknowledging the busyness of our lives - the emails and deadlines, assessment marking, family commitments and workloads - and being able to set these to the side and allow ourselves to be, to listen to God’s presence, to see the blessings given and to acknowledge all that is around us.
The capacity to allow ourselves time is important for us all, and a two-day retreat is not the only means by which this can be achieved. In the quiet still of the morning light, the moment of complete relaxation as you drift off to sleep, a gaze at a clear, starry night, or solitude as you wait to pick your children up from school – all are opportunities to see the sacredness of life and living. To give yourself to choose to be deeply present.
